Our premium matcha tea is authentic stone-ground "Tencha" leaves, which is a true matcha. Tencha is shaded from sunlight 3-4 weeks before harvest, producing the bright green color and "umami" flavor from the rich amino acids in the green tea leaves. In contrast, many "matcha" products on the market are actually ground "Sencha," which is not shaded and is made from stems and buds, resulting in a dull color and bitter taste.

Matcha is the heart of the Japanese tea tradition, celebrated in the traditional tea ceremony for centuries. As a powdered green tea, it is one of the most powerful superfoods available today. Matcha is packed with "umami" - a Japanese term for an elegant, savory deliciousness that is the fifth scientific taste, alongside sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. 2. Premium Ceremonial Grade: A special blend of first and second-harvest leaves, offering a smooth and vibrant matcha experience, perfect for traditional tea preparation or blending into drinks and recipes.

3. Culinary Grade: Also a blend of first and second-harvest leaves, this matcha is ideal for mixing and blending into lattes, smoothies, baked goods, and other culinary applications.

All our matcha is sourced from a family-owned farm in the Uji region of Kyoto, Japan, which has been producing premium quality matcha since 1751. Uji is the green tea heartland of Japan and the birthplace of Japanese tea culture. Our matcha is 100% organic and stone-ground, ensuring maximum freshness and nutrient retention.
